PETRONAS Education Sponsorship Programme (PESP) Application Guidelines for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM 2015) Candidates

Since 1975, PETRONAS has awarded education sponsorships to more than 35,000 deserving students possessing high academic caliber. This was and still is pursued passionately by PETRONAS which continues to display a consistent appetite for innovation and a proven heart for the community.

The PESP is once again open to Malaysia’s most outstanding students to pursue undergraduate studies in oil and gas related fields. Eligible candidates will be shortlisted and assessed prior to final selection.

The sponsorships are open for undergraduate programme at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and Foreign Universities.

1. PESP for UTP
   Successful candidates are required to complete 1-year Foundation Programme prior to pursuing the Bachelor’s Degree Programme
    
2. PESP for Foreign Universities
   Successful candidates are required to complete up to 24 months of Pre-University Programme prior to pursuing the Bachelor’s Degree Programme

Eligibility Criteria

1. Malaysian citizens aged between 17 - 19 years old in 2016
2. Possess strong leadership skills and active participation (demonstrable) in extra-curricular activities
3. Identify the sponsored programme you wish to study:

Process & Schedule
3 March 2016: Online Application System opens

10 March 2016: Online Application System closes at 5PM

March 2016: Announcement & Invitation for PETRONAS YoungStars’ Day (PYD)

April 2016: PETRONAS YoungStars’ Day (PYD)

April 2016: Announcement of Sponsorship Awards

May 2016: Acceptance/rejection of Sponsorship Awards

Important Notes

• All applications must be made using the online system via educationsponsorship.petronas.com.my
• A detailed guide to completing the online application is available for download in Word formats
• Processing fee is NOT required for PESP application
• Notification of successful candidates for the PYD will be announced via educationsponsorship.petronas.com.my. The same username and password will be required for log-in purposes
• Incomplete or late application will not be processed
