Calling my parents daily and teliing tham to immediately get me out of the camp. But parents ccould only offer advice and consoling. The initial period was tough but has the days past i started to adjust and found the program realy benificial thereafter. It made me realize how i have always taken life for granted with my parents always being there for me. My advice to those who will be attending the future programs just hang in there initially. THis program has nade a better person now to face the world out there.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21960968.post-7021938638266482642008-06-15T23:10:00.000+08:002008-06-15T23:10:00.000+08:00haha..boot polishing..yes..i remembered asking a M...haha..boot polishing..yes..i remembered asking a Malay boy on how to polish his boots till shining..(it's something that we can be proud of and it really needs efforts)..hmm..my NS experience..actually on the last day, I wished I could have another 3 months again despite of the unpleasurable wash-your-own-clothes tasks and the 'one day five meals'..the activities were really fun and we had lots of new experiences..the challenging physical activities, Wirajaya (camping at the forest with mosquitos in own tent, cook your own food and special mission(first aid) at midnight), water sports competition, TTS (tempur tanpa senjata aka self-defence), singing own group songs with high spirit in the early morning and etc..haiz..but then things went back to normal after a few months and I became less disciplined..however, I still felt lucky for being selected for NS and returned home safely with lots of memories and photos, new friends' contacts, and some unavoidable bruises and a sprained ankle..oh ya..some muscles too!! and there's a saying in our batch..(P)enat (L)elah (K)erana (N)egara!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21960968.post-69595797884625556872008-05-26T22:10:00.000+08:002008-05-26T22:10:00.000+08:00Not all camps are like your's. There was also an obvious bias on the part of the trainers who were all bumiputeras. I hate to say this but there is some serious racial issues goin on here. Btw, I noticed a major problem regarding our English standards. 90% of the people I met in camp including the Chinese are unable to speak proper English. o_0 imagine my horror.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21960968.post-53262153661184017742008-04-14T16:13:00.000+08:002008-04-14T16:13:00.000+08:00nice post, the pictures and videos were a nice tou...nice post, the pictures and videos were a nice touch! :)

and oh goodness i still remember the boot polishing - we used to use lighted candles (some had lighters) to heat the black kiwi which gave it a mirror like shine.

and water was also a problem in my camp - there was a time when there was no water supply for 2 days eek!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
